Video These 3 Stresses Can Affect Your Sleep July 23, 2023 These 3 Stresses Can Affect Your Sleep. I see patients every day who have sleep issues. Let's talk about 3 types of stress that may be keeping you awake at night. There are 3 types of stress I want to talk to you about, that may be affecting your sleep: chemical stress, physical stress, and emotional stress. 1. Chemical stress. This is what you eat and your environment. I want to encourage you to stay away from what I call the 7 Deadly Sins of Nutrition: alcohol, meat, sugar, dairy, coffee, soda, and artificial sweetener. At least cut back on them. Eat more things like fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. As much as you can, follow a plant based diet for good, healthy nutrition. 2. Physical stress. If you have pain, that may be keeping you from sleeping. Chiropractic care is the most effective, least expensive treatment for back pain, so if you have pain, start out with chiropractic care, and see if that helps you. 3. Emotional stress. I can't fix your emotional issues, but I have found that when we fix the chemical stress and the physical stress, the emotional stress improves dramatically. If you have digestive issues, that can make the emotional issues much worse, because if you're not absorbing the nutrients you need, it can affect your emotions. Video How You Can Quickly Deal With Digestive Issues July 22, 2023 How You Can Quickly Deal With Digestive Issues. Thank you for tuning in. If you like what you are learning, please subscribe to my channel and smash the "like" button. Today, I want to give you a simple health hack to help you quickly deal with digestive issues. How many of you have ever had digestive issues? I know most of you have. You might have heartburn, gas, burping, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, digestive problems. Everyone has digestive problems; no one wants to talk about them. So if you have digestive problems, I want to give you a simple tip to help you: The easiest thing you can do at home is to take a hot towel and lay it across your abdomen. The towel should not be too hot, but as warm as you can stand it. When you put heat on the digestive system, it relaxes the digestive system and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system. What is that? Well, in your body, sympathetic nerves speed you up. Parasympathetic nerves slow you down. Digestion is a parasympathetic nerve function, so we need to calm down the digestive system, and a really easy solution is to lay a warm/hot towel across your abdomen. Having trouble sleeping? Have kids that are suffering from digestive problems? Lay a warm towel across their abdomen, and it should calm them down and make them feel better. I have a ton of other tips for healthy digestion, so follow me, and I'd love to have you subscribe to my newsletter. Links below. Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC. DABCO. DAAPM. Video The One Daily Habit That Can Be Ruining Your Sleep July 21, 2023 The One Daily Habit That Can Be Ruining Your Sleep. You worry too much!! I get it. I want to share with you a simple life hack that I use to help me sleep like a baby. If you like what you're learning, please subscribe to my channel and be sure to press the "like" button. Thank you. If you're like me, you lay in bed at night, and you worry about things like, "did I remember to call that person?... did I take the dog out?... did I take the trash out?... did I send that email?... and on and on.... There may be even weightier things on your mind. Here's my tip: Sticky Notes! That's right. Old school, I know, but very effective! I have sticky notes everywhere... in my office, in my car, in my kitchen, in my bathroom, next to my bed. The reason is, during the day, you think of things, and by jotting them down physically, you are taking them out of your mind and you can rest knowing that you won't forget. At the end of the day, I check all my sticky notes to make sure I did everything I was supposed to do. It feels great when you complete the task, take the sticky note, and throw it in the trash. It's a little rush of feeling great that you accomplished what you needed to do. Keep them everywhere. This will help you get things off your mind, and your mind can REST. Then, at night, you can rest easy and sleep so much better. Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC. DABCO. DAAPM. DCBCN, DCCN drjoe.com I want to help you be well and stay well, naturally. Video Clogged Liver and High Cholesterol. July 20, 2023 Clogged Liver and High Cholesterol. If you like the information I bring to you, please subscribe to my channel and smash the "like" button for this video. Thank you very much. Many people have high cholesterol. Maybe you do. High Cholesterol can be dangerous, but there nuances that I want you to understand. About 1/100 people have genetically high cholesterol. About 99/100 people do very well maintaining proper cholesterol levels through proper diet. That's great news. Many times with cholesterol, your liver is clogged up. The liver produces cholesterol, and it goes out into your body... it has many functions. Then, it comes back to the liver and gets recycled, so to speak. But if the liver is clogged up, you may not be recycling your cholesterol, and that may be why your cholesterol is high. That's where a good plan comes in to play. Cleansing the liver, eating a proper diet, getting the digestive system working properly, and taking the proper supplements... many times can lower the cholesterol naturally. Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC. Video Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup July 20, 2023 Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup. I want to help you be well and stay well. If you like what you are learning and it's helping you, I'm so glad. Please subscribe to my channel and smash the "like" button for this video. High Fructose Corn Syrup is not good for you. Your body has to convert fructose into glucose, which the body needs for fuel and energy. But the process of converting fructose into glucose produces something called uric acid. Uric acid is a waste product. It gets in your joints, and it hurts. As a pain specialist, I want to help you manage pain and avoid pain. Uric acid prevents the body from properly producing nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is important for your body because it opens up your blood vessels, allowing for better circulation in your brain, your sex organs, and your entire body. Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC. DABCO. Video A Simple Tip to Help You Fight Depression July 14, 2023 If you are dealing with depression, chlorella may be a nutrient that may help you. Research has shown that subjects taking chlorella had a "significant improvement in physical and cognitive functions of depression, as well as anxiety". This is an inexpensive way to help fortify your body. Years ago, when I created my supplements, Dr. Joe's Super Greens, I included chlorella in the ingredients, because of the wonderful health benefits of chlorella. Dr. Joe's Super Greens also contains Spirulina, Alfalfa Leaf, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, and Flax Seed Powder. People who take Dr. Joe's Super Greens report back to me every day how much energy they have, how much better they feel. Now, chlorella by itself doesn't taste very good, but we offer a Mint Flavored Dr. Joe's Super Greens, and that is a great choice. You can also make a delicious smoothie with Dr. Joe's Super Greens, using frozen fruit, plant based milk, and even adding a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, which also has tremendous health benefits. This is not the only thing you should do if you suffer from depression. But incorporating chlorella, and hopefully Dr. Joe's Super Greens, into your diet, will help you be healthier! #depression #chlorella #nutrition #plantbaseddiet #spirulina #chlorellabenefits Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC. Video 5 Ways to Stay Slim and Not Starve July 13, 2023 Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC. DABCO. DAAPM. DCBCN, DCCN. Thank you for visiting my channel. If you like what you're learning here, please like this video and subscribe to my channel. You'll get notified when I post new videos to help you be well, for the health of it! You want to lose weight, or maybe you just don't want to GAIN weight, but you feel hungry all the time. It won't be long before your willpower caves in and you eat more than you should.... or maybe you eat the wrong thing like fast food or one of the 7 Deadly Sins of Nutrition. Here are some tips to help you stay slim and not starve. Drink a lot of water. Many times, you're not hungry, you're thirsty. And by drinking plenty of water during the day, your body can stay energetic and feel satisfied. Have a big glass of water before every meal, you'll find you eat a lot less food. Ruin your appetite! That's right... about 20 minutes before a meal, have a handful of nuts or a half of avocado. Make sure it is something healthy for you. Once again, you'll be getting nutrients, and you'll eat less at your main meal. Stop eating at least 4 hours before you go to bed. You won't be consuming calories before you go to sleep, and you'll really enjoy your breakfast in the morning. Intermittent fasting. Speaking of "breaking your fast"... go at least 12 hours without eating. If you have your last meal of the day at 6 pm, don't eat anything until at least 6 am the next morning. That alone is going to reset your metabolism. It's awesome. Eat slowly. It takes 20 minutes to get the message that you're full, from your stomach to your brain. If you eat slowly, you'll absorb your food better, you'll enjoy it more, and you will be giving your brain enough time to receive the message that you've had enough to eat.... so you will eat less and be satisfied. Video 3 Supplements to Increase Circulation to Every Part of Your Body July 12, 2023 Turmeric, Nitric Oxide and Omega 3 Fatty Acids are fantastic and are supplements I take every day. If you have low blood pressure, you should not take Nitric Oxide. Improving your circulation can improve your brain function, your sexual function, and so many other aspects of your health. Poor circulation can also contribute to pain. Blood helps bring nutrients to injured parts of the body and flush out toxins. If there is a toxic build up or if a part of the body is not getting enough nutrients, pain can result. A diet high in alcohol, meat, sugar, coffee, soda and artificial sweetener can contribute to hardening of the arteries which can cause a lack of proper blood supply. Coffee and alcohol are diuretics which can cause you to dehydrate and the can lead to poor blood flow as well. Coffee has also been shown to increase you homocysteine levels, which can cause low density lipoproteins (LDL’s) to stick to your artery walls which will lead to hardening of the arteries. It is important for many reasons to be sure you keep your well hydrated, especially if you partake in diuretic foods or medications.
