Stress and damage to the artery walls allows inflammation to occur, and that leads to plaque buildup in the arteries, because that helps make the artery wall stronger, by laying plaque down…. and that helps deal with the stress and damage.

This is why plaque is usually seen in arteries, where there is a lot more pressure. Since veins don’t have a lot of pressure… the kind that arteries do…the plaque is often not seen there.

So surgery oftentimes is absolutely necessary to save a patient’s life.

But we also need to get to the cause of the plaque, not just treat the symptoms. A more plant focused diet is going to be the key to help reducing the plaque. Try including avocados, apples, and other high fiber foods, as well as eating a good mix of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
