Glutathione…. what the heck is that?
Glutathione is an antioxidant, and it’s composed of 3 amino acids: cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid.
Glutathione is a component of the body that is really important for many things. One of the things it does is help the liver work more efficiently. It’s one of the most powerful antioxidants we have.
What does an antioxidant do?
So, there are things called free radicals. Free radicals attack your body and eat away at your cells. Antioxidants reduce the damage that the free radicals do…. many times antioxidants can even shut down the free radicals completely.
If you can boost your glutathione levels, you improve your oxidative stress and improve your mitochondrial function, which produces energy in the body.
Your body can make glutathione by eating things like cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli and Brussels sprouts.
