It won&#8217;t be long before your willpower caves in and you eat more than you should&#8230;. or maybe you eat the wrong thing like fast food or one of the 7 Deadly Sins of Nutrition.  <\/p>\n<p>Here are some tips to help you stay slim and not starve.<br \/>\nDrink a lot of water.  Many times, you&#8217;re not hungry, you&#8217;re thirsty.  And by drinking plenty of water during the day, your body can stay energetic and feel satisfied.  Have a big glass of water before every meal, you&#8217;ll find you eat a lot less food.<br \/>\nRuin your appetite!  That&#8217;s right&#8230; about 20 minutes before a meal, have a handful of nuts or a half of avocado.  Make sure it is something healthy for you.  Once again, you&#8217;ll be getting nutrients, and you&#8217;ll eat less at your main meal.<br \/>\nStop eating at least 4 hours before you go to bed.  You won&#8217;t be consuming calories before you go to sleep, and you&#8217;ll really enjoy your breakfast in the morning.<br \/>\nIntermittent fasting.  Speaking of &#8220;breaking your fast&#8221;&#8230; go at least 12 hours without eating.  If you have your last meal of the day at 6 pm, don&#8217;t eat anything until at least 6 am the next morning.  That alone is going to reset your metabolism. It&#8217;s awesome.<br \/>\nEat slowly.  It takes 20 minutes to get the message that you&#8217;re full, from your stomach to your brain.  If you eat slowly, you&#8217;ll absorb your food better, you&#8217;ll enjoy it more, and you will be giving your brain enough time to receive the message that you&#8217;ve had enough to eat&#8230;. so you will eat less and be satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Joe Esposito, BS DC.
